Ingredients

  • 12 oz. pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 1 lb. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp. Cajun seasoning
  • 3 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp for 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter. Sauté garlic, bell peppers, and onion until softened.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce thickens.
  7. Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to control the spiciness.
  • Use fresh shrimp for the best texture.
  • Add more broth if the sauce is too thick.
