Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 3 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Slice flank steak into thin strips and coat with cornstarch.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and cook beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté ginger and garlic for 30 seconds.
  4. Add soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  5. Return beef to the pan and simmer until sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Slice beef against the grain for tenderness.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spiciness.
