Ingredients

- 1 cup semolina (sooji)
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 green chili (finely chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Mix semolina, yogurt, and water in a bowl. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onion and green chili. Sauté until onions turn translucent.
- Add turmeric powder and stir well.
- Pour the semolina mixture into the pan. Stir continuously to avoid lumps.
- Cook on low heat until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust water consistency if needed.
- Serve with chutney or pickle for extra flavor.
- Use fresh yogurt for best results.
