Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina (sooji)
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 green chili (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix semolina, yogurt, and water in a bowl. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onion and green chili. Sauté until onions turn translucent.
  4. Add turmeric powder and stir well.
  5. Pour the semolina mixture into the pan. Stir continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. Cook on low heat until the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust water consistency if needed.
  • Serve with chutney or pickle for extra flavor.
  • Use fresh yogurt for best results.
