Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and half the Parmesan cheese.
  6. In a baking dish, layer noodles, beef sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  7. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use no-boil lasagna noodles to save time.
  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
  • Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
