- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, and half the Parmesan cheese.
- In a baking dish, layer noodles, beef sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use no-boil lasagna noodles to save time.
- Substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Freeze leftovers for up to 3 months.
