25-Minute Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry That Saves Dinner

A quick and easy beef and broccoli stir-fry with tender slices of beef and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and sesame oil to make the sauce.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a pan over high heat and stir-fry the beef for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from pan.
  4. Add the remaining oil to the pan and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
  5. Add broccoli and stir-fry for 2 minutes, then add water and cover to steam for 2 more minutes.
  6. Return the beef to the pan, add the sauce, and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until everything is coated and heated through.
  7. Serve hot with rice.

Notes

  • Slice beef while slightly frozen for thinner cuts.
  • Adjust sauce thickness with water if needed.
  • Substitute broccoli with other vegetables if preferred.
